Current Projects at the Museum

1. Locomotive 1905
Co-ordinator is Tony LeBreton. This locomotive is receiving a full static restoration to present it in full display condition. |

2. Electric Motor Carriage C3804
Co-ordinator is Allan Leaver. This carriage is having all missing equipment replaced and all static functions such as doors made operational. The carriage will be repainted when fitting out is complete.
3. Carriage HFL 420
Co-ordinator is Bill McNiven. This carriage is being restored to an ex-workshops condition.
4. Thirlmere Museum
Co-ordinator is Tony LeBreton. This group maintains the condition of the Museum's entire display infrastructure. It is ongoing work.

5. Thirlmere Grounds
Co-ordinator is Gil Wheaton. This group is responsible for the care, maintenance and development of the Museum grounds and gardens. |
| 6. Carriage Eight Wheel Radial
Co-ordinator is Geoff Allerton. This group is restoring the external body of this very rare carriage. |

7. Electric Trailer Carriage T4310
Co-ordinator is Arthur Kirk. This carriage is being cleaned internally, and will have the interior and exterior paint surfaces touched up in order to lift the presentation of the carriage. |
| 8. Display Hall Electrical Upgrade
Co-ordinator is Tony Eyre. This group is upgrading the electrical distribution throughout the display area. The aim of this project is to allow safe connection of power to static exhibits for the purpose of illumination and display enhancement. |

9. Signals and Safe Working Display
Co-ordinator is Bob Booth. This group is restoring all of the items for the Signals and Safe Working display. When the items have been restored, they are mounted on display in the Signal Display Hall. |
10. Small Exhibits
Co-ordinator is Ray Love. The Small Exhibits represent all of the items that are too small to display individually such as plates, uniforms and models etc.
11. Locomotives John Brown (J.A.B.A.S.) Numbers 4 and 5
Co-ordinator is Bruce Saunders. The aim of this group is to give these two historic locomotives a quick cosmetic restoration so that they can be put on display.
| 12. Silver City Comet
Co-ordinator is Tony LeBreton. This group is giving the Silver City Comet a cosmetic repaint in order to freshen the vehicle for display, and to arrest deterioration that is now evident. |

13. Track Maintenance
Coordinator is Colin Wilmot. This group is working on the maintenance of tracks on the loopline (below left) and Buxton (below right).

14. Restoration 4001 Engine.
The coordinator for this project is John Knotek, who is overhauling the spare ALCO 244 engine for eventual installation in locomotive 4001. |
15. Garrat Locomotive 6040.
Roger Weal is co-ordinating this group who are performing a cosmetic restoration on this famous locomotive.
