4201 Clyde Engineering Co. Granville NSW 1955 First Australian built diesel locomotive in NSW service. Withdrawn and sold to RTM in 1983
4306 A. Goninan & Co. Newcastle NSW 1957 Generally based in Newcastle and northern area of state. Withdrawn and transferred to RTM in 1978
4490 A.E. Goodwin Pty Ltd Auburn NSW 1967 This class used in all traffic across the state. Withdrawn from service and transferred to RTM in 1995
44211 A.E. Goodwin Pty Ltd Auburn NSW 1971 Used across the state in all types of traffic. Withdrawn and transferred to RTM in 1998
4520 A.E. Goodwin Pty Ltd Auburn NSW 1963 Used across the state in heavy haulage duties. Withdrawn and transferred to RTM in 1995
4601 Beyer Peacock/Metropolitan Vickers Manchester UK 1955 First production main line electric locomotive. Used between Sydney, Lithgow, Broadmeadow, and to a very limited extent to Port Kembla. Withdrawn and purchased by RTM in 1998
4638 Beyer Peacock/Metropolitan Vickers Manchester UK 1956 Used between Sydney, Lithgow, Broadmeadow, and to a very limited extent to Port Kembla. Withdrawn and donated to RTM in 1998
4803 A.E. Goodwin Pty Ltd Auburn NSW 1959 First batch of branch line locomotives used to dieselise country branch lines. Used across the state. Withdrawn and transferred to RTM in 1997
4916 Clyde Engineering Co. Granville NSW 1961 Initially used to dieselise Parkes to Broken Hill services. Later life saw use in north west, southern, western and metropolitan areas. Withdrawn and donated to RTM in 1998
7006 Commonwealth Engineering Granville NSW 1961 Used to dieselise the industrial and port services at Port Kembla. Withdrawn from service and purchased for RTM and donated in 1989
7100 NSWGR Chullora Workshops 1952 Prototype main line electric locomotive built by NSWGR to gain experience in use of electric traction. Withdrawn 1974 and transferred to RTM
7921 General Electric Co. Eire Pennsylvania USA 1944 Imported to Australia by US Army in 1944 for use at Munitions factories. Transferred to Commonwealth Railways in 1949. Purchased by RTM in 1989
8646 Commonwealth Engineering Granville NSW 1983 Main line electric locomotive to operate between Port Kembla, Lithgow, and Newcastle. Withdrawn in 2002 and purchased by RTM in 2003
D1 Commonwealth Engineering Granville NSW 1950 Built to commence dieselisation of rail services in the Port Kembla Steelworks. Withdrawn and donated to RTM in 1985
